The quality of a student's Portfolio of Evidence and DP's Internal Assessment will largely determine a student's exam results. On the one hand, accumulation is a good helper when it is employed rightly. To begin with, hard work pays off as nothing you've done will be wasted. Even if the effect couldn't be seen right now, still it'll surely appear sometime later or somewhere else. For instance, I've taken debate lessons for two years and a half. I always devote myself into preparing evidence for my arguments whenever there's a tournament. I spent weeks reading the essays on Google scholar and revising my script. Unfortunately, I have never won any prizes despite my devotion. I was even defeated by some sixth graders. I used to believe that all of my hard work on debate was wasted. Nevertheless, later I find that I'm not afraid of TOEFL reading at all as I've already read a number of articles identical in style. I'm also not scared of the CTW homework because I know how to organize a writing logically. Even though I never see any hope in debate, still I don't regret insisting on it because it trained my reading and writing without noticing.Apart from this, learning method could be adjusted through accumulating experience. By analyzing the problems appeared when learning a specific subject, I could find some measure to solve it according to my past experience. I never did any revision on science subjects after class except for the mid term or final exam when I was in grade nine. Such bad habit didn't cause any bad effect at that time because the content of grade nine was relatively little and easy. However, problems started to appear when I entered grade ten. I found that I sometimes couldn't answer the teacher's questions on the content of the previous class fluently. That worried me a lot. I realized that revision after every class is necessary. I also used to do all my business homework on the last night before the deadline which made me fatigue. I decided thatI must exacerbate procrastination as it is not only inefficient but also exhausting. Surprisingly, I discovered that when I'm avoiding doing homework, the psychological burden is very heavy but once I start doing it, it will naturally become easier because of unknown reasons. On the other hand, accumulation could be disastrous if applied wrongly. Not only knowledge and experience could be accumulated, incomprehension could also be piled up. When that happens, it would be a irreversible trauma on learning. I missed one of the points on reciprocal functions in one maths class last semester. I immediately found that I couldn't answer all the questions on my homework that day. I haven't realized the severity of the problem at that time yet. I was alarmed on the second day to find out that I couldn't understand the nest lesson because it was strongly related with the previous one. It was lucky that the teacher explained the homework of the last class, so I didn't fall behind completely. I could imagine that if I didn't solve this problem, there would be more and more things I don't understand. It will roll bigger and bigger like a snowball and finally crush me. Always listen to the teacher as carefully as you can to avoid after class anxiety. These are only my subjective views on learning.
