In accordance with Shanghai's city-wide initiative, all first-year junior high students across the district are completing practical fire safety education. On October 10, our school's entire first-year cohort visited the Anting Fire and Rescue Station for hands-on learning.During the activity, students received safety lectures, practiced with fire extinguishers, participated in evacuation drills, and observed firefighters' daily training routines. On October 11, the Primary School Division held the 9th Young Pioneers Congress election. Principal Zhang Hong first presented certificates to outgoing committee members.Fifteen candidates presented proposals covering internet safety, reading promotion, environmental protection and AI applications. On October 10,the dormitory department organized a “HOUSE Cooking Challenge” for secondary and high school students. This initiative enabled boarding students to fully participate in every stage—from event planning and ingredient sourcing to food preparation—exercising considerable autonomy to showcase their talents and preferences. Students demonstrated various cooking skills—stir-frying, pan-frying, stewing, boiling, and roasting—with great proficiency while developing life skills through teamwork. On September 30, SABS held a joint Dietary Committee meeting to strengthen campus food safety. The school introduced a comprehensive closed-loop supervision system covering the entire process from ingredient sourcing to meal service.During the meeting, the newly established Parent Dietary Committee formally commenced operations, with all members signing commitment pledges. The Music Department recently organized a specialized teaching research, inviting renowned art education expert Professor Feng Jiquan - a Western musicologist, educator, critic, and tenor. He joined forces with Ms. Wang Hua, music researcher from Jiading District Education College, and our school's music teachers to discuss curriculum innovation.Professor Feng delivered a keynote speech focusing on Enhancing the SABS Music Curriculum Based on the Three-Track Parallel System in Line with New National Art Education Standards. He provided an in-depth analysis of the new standards' core requirements and offered practical implementation suggestions grounded in teaching feasibility. Under the coordination of the PD Center, the mentoring pairing ceremony forthe 2025 academic year's ‘Shining Initiative’ concluded last month. Thisacademic year saw 14 mentor-mentee pairs established, covering four key areas:guidance in moral education, homeroom expertise, enhancement of subjectteaching, and cultivation of administrative management capabilities.
