1、建模课程 Sketch Up Lab: Meet Students’ Different Needs

什么是建模呢？根据百科的解释就是建立模型，为了理解事物而对事物做出的一种抽象，是对事物的一种无歧义的书面描述。那在课程中，建模课程是什么样的呢？12年级的火同学对古代建筑充满兴趣，这一周，他对古代宫殿类建筑进行抽象的复原，同时，建模课程可以帮助进行环境要求的模拟和设计，学生们在Christelle老师和校友戴同学的指导下，进行极有想象力的创作，一起来看看吧。

What is “Modeling”? According to the explanation, it is the process of establishing a model, it is an abstraction in order to understand things, and it an unambiguous written description of things. What is the modeling course like in school curriculum? Martin Huo, our G12 student, is interested in ancient architecture. This week, he made an abstract restoration of ancient palace buildings. At the same time, the modeling course can help simulate and design the environmental requirements. Under the guidance of Ms. Christelle and an alumnus Charlotte Dai, the students made very imaginative creations. Let's have a look.

2、喜获USAD奖项 Excellent Achievements of USAD 

本周，高中部收到了USAD传来的好消息。9至11年级的同学们在指导老师续老师的帮助下，经过一学期的仔细准备，对各个科目的反复深入研究，最终获得个人奖项、团队奖项数十项。续老师也是我校的大学指导老师。在获奖学生中，9年级的姜同学一人就斩获10余项个人奖项及团队奖项。恭喜我们的同学们，期待他们再接再厉，再创佳绩。

This week, the high school received good news from USAD global competition. 14 students from G9 to G11 won dozens of individual awards and team awards after a semester of preparation and repeated in-depth research on various subjects. These students were supported by the instructor Ms Chao, who is also one of the University Counsellors in our school. Among these students, G9 student Ethan Jiang won more than 10 individual awards and team awards. Congratulations to our students and look forward to their continued efforts and achievements.

3、升学规划讲座：留学前的规划 Lectures from Graduates: Preparations Before Going Abroad

留学出发前该做些什么准备呢？签证、航班、学习、宿舍该怎么准备呢？华师双语高中部特地帮同学们、家长们联系了2021届的毕业生们聊一聊出国留学的准备，就美国、加拿大方向的同学们做到了细致的分析，帮助同学们提前准备，避免在这个疫情的特殊情况下，出现手忙脚乱的情况。

What preparations should be made before studying abroad? How to prepare for visa, flight, study and dormitory? ECNUAS high school specially helped the students and parents contact the graduates of 2021 to talk about their preparations for studying abroad, made a detailed analysis on the students in the United States and Canada, and helped the students prepare in advance to avoid being in a hurry under the special circumstances of the epidemic.

4、讲座：《养成内在学习动机》  “Learning to Choose, Choosing to Learn” 

－－ A Lecture about Motivation By ECNU Assistant Professor Dr. Jiang, Yi

5月12日，华师大副教授姜怡博士带来了关于学习动机的讲座，吸引了不少高中部学生和家长参加。讲座内容从理论出发，通过生动的实际生活案例，给学生的学习动机培养提供了很好的建议。

On May 12, Associate Professor Jiang Yi of East China Normal University brought a lecture on motivation of learning, which attracted many high school students and parents. The lecture provides students with theoretical knowledge about motivation and practical suggestions for improving learning.

5、 生活联系实际，课堂知识巧用 Integrating Life with Practice and Knowledge

学习了知识该如何快速理解运用呢？同学们打上了生活日常的主意。怎么理解经济学的供需关系？同学们将视线转移至了疫情前后的食物供需及价格上，通过实际情况进行分析，指出价格与供需关系。数学的集合关系怎么理解呢？同学们更是五花八门，想法尽出，游戏、食物、星际都是同学实际出发理解知识的帮手，看看他们的理解图谱吧。

How to understand and apply knowledge quickly after learning it? The students came up with the ideas to make connections with real life. How to understand the relationship between supply and demand in Economics? The students turned their attention to the food supply and demand and price before and after the epidemic. How to understand the union and intersection in Mathematics? The students used their understandings of games, food and interstellar, which were all helpers to understand knowledge. 6、共同守“沪”，社会责任我行动 My Effort to the Pandemic Prevention

青少年的社会责任是什么呢？高中部的刘同学用自己的实际行动告诉大家，青少年要甘于奉献，勇于担当。在不耽误学习的前提下，刘同学成为了志愿者，担起夜间消杀工作。少年心怀赤忱，特殊时期，共守家园。

What is the social responsibility of teenagers? Harry Liu, a high school student of ECNUAS, told everyone with his own actions that teenagers should be willing to contribute and have the courage to take responsibilities. Without delaying his study, Harry became a volunteer and took on the task of disinfection and sterilization in his community at night. With absolute sincerity in his heart, Harry guarded the community and fought with the pandemic during the special time.

7、学生代表座谈会 Mid-term Students Representatives Meeting

学期过半，同学们在这短短的时间中经历了网上教学、网上考试等诸多与众不同的生活。为了解学生们实际的生活情况、学习问题，此次，校长办公室的老师们与各个年级的同学代表们进行了沟通，了解他们对线上教学的反馈，他们对网课的建议以及改进方案，以期提供更合适的教学环境，共克困难。

With half of the semester passing by, the students have went through many different challenges such as online learning and online examinations. In order to understand the students' actual living conditions and learning needs, this week, the Principal's Office met up with the students' representatives of all grades to hear their feedback on online teaching, their suggestions on online classes and improvement, in order to provide a more helpful environment of learning and support further learning.

8、学业提升分享会 Curriculum Promotion Session

IB的语文学习该做好怎样的准备？国际课程体系下，数学薄弱的学生该如何培养学习兴趣，完成逆袭？学生该如何克服以下三大学习难题：英语能力薄弱、口语能力不足、学习能力欠缺？ 5月15日晚，高中部中文组组长罗老师、数学组组长何老师、英语组组长Rebecca老师就这些家长们普遍关心的学业问题进行了分析，从课程特点、学业要求角度出发，提出了诸多适合孩子们提升学业、增进学习能力的方法，帮助家长、孩子找到适合的学习方法。

How should I prepare for IB Chinese learning? Under the international  curriculum system, how should students with weak mathematics ability  cultivate their interest in learning and finally succeed? How can students  overcome the following three major learning problems: weak English ability,  weak speaking ability and lack of learning interests? On the evening of May 15, Ms. Olivia Luo, the SGL of the Chinese group, Miss.  Scarrlett He, the SGL of the Mathematics group and Ms. Rebecca, the SGL of  the English group of high school, analyzed the academic problems, which are  generally concerned by parents, and put forward many methods suitable for  children to improve their study and learning ability from the perspective of  curriculum characteristics and academic requirements, so as to help parents  and children find suitable learning methods.
