1、 线上学习,班主任想说 Online Teaching, Homeroom Teachers Want to Say

“嘀嘀嘀,你有一条新消息”。网课时期,社交软件们的提醒声连绵不绝,有关心,有问候,有嬉闹,当然也不乏催DDL...网课打破了学习的常规,似乎让我们间隔很远,似乎又让我们紧密联系。本周,910年级的班主任老师们借着晨会的机会跟同学们聊一聊他们的反思与心得。他们说,线上学习不只是孤军奋斗,网络让大家联系在了一起,支持、陪伴了班级中的每一个人,照亮了大家,清除了独自学习的孤寂与清冷,期待下一次的线下相聚。

The social media rings and tells that you have a new message all the timeDuring the online class period, the social media kept reminding us of concerns, greetings, frolics, and of course, DDLs from others. Online classes change the rules of learning, sometimes seem to keep us far apart, but sometimes seem to keep us closely connected. This week, the homeroom teachers of G9 and G10 took the opportunity of the morning assembly to talk with the students about their reflections and experiences. They said that online learning is not just a lonely struggle. The network connects everyone together, supports and accompanies everyone in the class, illuminates everyone, eliminates the loneliness of learning alone. They look forward to the next offline gathering.

2、 喜获PSFC 铜奖 Bronze Awards from PSFC

Project Shared Future Competition中,高中部10年级的鲍同学、陈同学、赖同学、樊同学、刘同学和杨同学,6位同学一起组队参加,在此轮赛事中取得了铜奖。这六位同学根据竞赛给出的主题,自行完成了网站搭建,并在网站中将他们的主题“运动&音乐”牢牢体现。暑假期间,这个6人小队即将参加下一轮的晋级赛,期待他们的发挥。

In the Project Shared Future Competition, students Bruce Bao, Angel Chen, Jeff Lai, Cynthia Fan, Harry Liu and Michael Yangfrom G10 formed a team to participate, and won the bronze medal in this round of competition. According to the theme given by the competition organizer, the six students constructed a website by themselves, and nicely embodied their theme "Sports & Music". During the coming summer vacation, the 6-member team will participate in the next round of competition, and we look forward to their performance.

3、 加拿大留学指南 Guides of Studying in Canada

加拿大留学要注意什么呢?要去哪个省?选择哪所学校?学校排名怎么看?专业排名看哪一个?不要着急不要紧张,高中部升学办老师们的留学指导讲座来啦。升学指导王老师根据家长、同学们关心的问题进行了细致的解答,如加拿大近年来的留学热门省市有哪些学校可以选择,加拿大的课程体系如何,未来要转学该有哪些流程等。更多留学申请注意点,请持续关注由升学指导办公室发布的信息。

What should we pay attention to when deciding to study in Canada? Which province are you going to? Which school to choose? What do you think of the school ranking? Which rank should we focus on? Don't worry, don't be nervous. The guidance lecture by the counselor office is coming. Ms. Rebecca Wang, the counselor, gave detailed answers to the questions concerned by parents and students, such as which schools can be selected in Canada's popular provinces and cities for studying abroad in recent years, how about Canada's curriculum system, and what processes should be used to the transfer. 4、 红榉杯教学竞赛 Red Beech Teaching Competition

红榉杯教学竞赛再度开始,本次竞赛高中部不少老师报名参与其中。本周首先展开教学演示的是高中部化学老师康老师带来的IB化学课。课上康老师带领学生们一起学习化学反应,对反应式进行推、计算。本周第二位带来教学演示的是高中部的数学老师Nicholas,他带领10年级的学生们学习二次函数并进行推导实战。下周,高中部会有更多的老师们参与其中,一起期待一下他们的课堂吧。

The Red Beech Teaching Competition began. Many teachers from high school signed up for the competition. The first open class this week was the IB chemistry class brought by chemistry teacher Mr. Karsten Kang. In class, Mr. Kang led the students to learn chemical reactions together, balancing chemical equations and doing stoichiometric calulation . The second teacher who taught the open class this week was Mr. Nicholas, mathematics teacher in high school. He led the students in Grade 10 to learn quadratic functions and practice real questions. Next week, there will be more teachers having open classes. Let's look forward to their classes.

5、 《罗密欧和朱丽叶》之我思 My Thoughts on “Romeo & Juliet”

罗密欧和朱丽叶的故事是很多人耳熟能详的故事。这个由莎士比亚创作的、包含了家族世仇与真挚爱情之间矛盾的故事包含了很多有意思、有讨论点的话题。英语课上,Avril老师以《罗密欧与朱丽叶》为背景,引导同学们对“家族&义务”、“青春&激情”等话题展开讨论。9年级的同学们通过阅读,对老师提出的问题做出了丰富的回答。

The story of Romeo and Juliet is familiar to many people. This story written by Shakespeare, which contains the contradiction between family feud and sincere love, contains many interesting topics for discussion. In the English class, Ms. Avril took Romeo and Juliet as the background and guided the students to discuss topics such as "Family & Obligation" and "Youth &Passion". Through reading, the students in Grade 9 gave rich answers to the questions raised by the teacher.

6、 跨学科项目之经济学:探索太空经济 Transition ProgramExplore the Space Economy

在上上周邀请了图书馆占晓宇老师以及组内Nicholas Lambert老师分享了文献引用规范以及利用网络进行检索查询的方法后,上周进入到太空经济学相关经济学理论的分享环节。

上周,我们有杨子青老师分享公共资源、外部性原理;刘益君老师分享公共资源、公地的悲剧;Nicholas Lambert老师分享政府干预的方式与手段。

社会科学的魅力就在于它与我们的生活切实相关,通过社会科学的学习,我们的视野得以延展,我们的思考得以深化!

The week beforlast week, Miss TiffanZhanlibrarianand Mr. Nicholas Lambertthe Bteacher, were invited to share the document citation specifications and the methods of searching and querying through the Internet. Last week, the transition prograentered the sharing of economic theories related to space economics.

Last week, MsCatherine Yang had a clasof public resources and externality principles; MsAnn Liu had classes of public resources and the tragedy of Commons; Nicholas Lambert haclasses of the means of government intervention.

The charm of social science lies in its practical relevance to our lives. Through the study of social sciencesstudents’ vision can be extended and the thinking can be deepened!

7、 CAS居家小建议,请查收 Please Check the Suggestions of CAS at Home

居家期间,同学们对与CAS的活动举办、CAS的记录、IB 要求CAS活动均有不少的疑问。周四,Co-CAS协调员尹老师在CAS时间给同学们进行了线上答疑,帮助目前CAS进展缓慢的同学,听取疑问给出解答。同时,给同学们再一次分享了居家的CAS建议,帮助督促大家完成记录。11年级的优秀CAS代表崔同学从自己的经验出发,给大家也提了不少实用的建议。此次会议尹老师全程录制,如有需要可以找尹老师进行回顾。

During the lockdown, the students had many questions about CAS activities, CAS records and CAS activities required by the IB. On Thursday, Co-CAS coordinator Ms. Amelie Yin answered the students' questions online during CAS time to help the students who are currently making slow progress in CAS, listening to the questions and giving out answers. At the same time, she once again shared CAS suggestions with the students to help them complete the records. Ivy Cui, the outstanding CAS representative of G11, also gave a lot of practical suggestions based on her own experience. Ms. Amelie recorded the whole meeting. 12年级同学们IB学习阶段的CAS已经全部完成CAS协调员刘老师表示在阅读学生CAS经历与反思的时候,作为老师,我也时常感受到被激励与被鼓舞。这也许是CAS作为IB国际文凭项目三大核心课程之一的独特性之所在。它延展了我们对学习的定义,告诉我们学习不仅仅局限在书本上和课堂上;它帮助了学生在实践和体验中锻炼能力、提高素养,认知自我;也督促学生学会尊重、理解、包容与合作,成为一个更好的人!CAS学生们学习一个重要阶段他们的理解反思能够给11年级的同学极大的帮助,让我来看看他们说了什么

Grade 12 students have completed the IB CAS. Ms. Ann Liu, CAS coordinator, said: when reading students' CAS experience and reflection, as a teacher, I often feel inspired and encouraged. This may be the uniqueness of CAS. It extends our definition of learning and tells us that learning is not limited to books and classes. It helps students to exercise their ability, improve their quality and recognize themselves in practice and experience. It also urges students to learn to respect, understand, tolerate and cooperate to become a better person! CAS is an important stage in students' learning. Their understanding and reflection can greatly help students in Grade 11. Let's see what they have said.
